I have wandered into Restoration Hardware many times, and each time, I plop onto the Cloud Sofa, say one day I’ll have it, but let’s be real, maybe not. I’ve heard mixed reviews from Cloud-Sofa-owners, and hearing from buyers that they don’t recommend it is enough for me to think to just shop similar styles elsewhere. A couple things to note, because it is such a comfortable sofa, I would probably only consider it realistically for a space that won’t be used often. Maybe in the bedroom or office? I would steer clear of making it your everyday sofa, the sofa for a living room that often hosts many guests, etc. I’ve heard people mention the backing sinking in, the inserts getting bunched up together, etc. But another thing to note is that hefty price tag.

If you’re looking for alternates, I’ve scoured the internet and rounded up some great alternates. To begin, let’s price out an L-shaped Cloud Sofa.

ALTERNATE CHOICES
This is a great alternate for the Cloud Sofa. I’ve already priced out a 4-piece sectional because I low-key dream of a bigger sofa for our home and it comes out to $4,896. Much less than RH. It’s also firm enough that the cushions hold their shape after getting up from the sofa.
This piece is from the Leanne Ford Collection at Crate & Barrel. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something with a slip cover that can be easier to clean! I’ve tested this one out and it’s definitely a great option as well. Price is $3498 for this exact model.
Another great alternate that has a bit more slouch compared to the Harmony. Starts at $2968 and goes up depending on Fabric.
I am in love with the size of this sofa by Sundays. It seems like the perfect sofa set up to watch all my Korean Dramas. This arrangement is priced at $5500, not too bad to be able to seat more people!
I don’t know much about Joybird but I’ve seen some positive reviews online. This one runs about $3795 before tax and delivery fees.
Okay, Bob’s Furniture coming through with a 5-piece sectional for only $2,299. The only thing is that it only comes in gray or blue. Not bad though, it’s definitely a great option.
And if incase you checked all these out and your heart still tells you that the Cloud Sofa is the one, then definitely go for it! I just recommend definitely being an RH member because that alone will save you a few thousand dollars. Check out a couple other sofas I’ve been loving as well!
